Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process of having your knowledge, work experience and skills formally assessed for the purpose of gaining a nationally recognised and accredited qualification. InTech offers you the chance to transfer your skills and experience and turn it into a Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling!
The benefits of RPL:
- Save money – RPL is a much cheaper alternative than full-time study
- Save time – RPL allows you to achieve the qualification as soon as you can provide the satisfactory skills and experience
- RPL gives overseas skilled workers the opportunity to transfer their overseas skills and experience into an Australian qualification. This may be used to apply for jobs in Australia or apply for migration.
- RPL identifies gaps in your skills which can be translated into a training plan to meet the requirements of a specific job role or to achieve the full qualification
- Apply for further study or accreditation
If you are considering study or further training, think about what existing skills and industry experience you already have as you may be eligible to apply for an RPL.
To successfully achieve an RPL, you must be able to demonstrate your skills towards each unit of competency in the qualification and show work currency to ensure it aligns with current industry standards.
As part of the RPL application process, candidates must provide the following types of evidence:
- Portfolio of Evidence
- Prior qualifications (accredited and non-accredited)
- Employment history (detailed, positions, performance, appraisals)
- Visual evidence (photos and videos) demonstrating your skillset
