This advanced-level qualification will equip you with the skills and ability to design, build and manage websites. You may work as an independent web developer or as part of a team. Students will gain higher programming skills and build an understanding of emerging web technology trends.

QLD Domestic Students may be eligible to complete the qualification under the Higher Level Skills Program. See eligibility requirements under funded programs.

In Australia, students successfully graduating from this qualification may receive a median salary of approx. $47,600 per year.

Course Overview

This course is perfect for individuals who want to establish a career in website development. Students will be exposed to the creative and technical process of building, designing and managing websites and databases. They will apply the skills learned in the classroom to practical projects using industry-standard software and computer equipment.

Domestic Students
English and language, literacy and numeracy skills.

International Students
English Language Proficiency – must demonstrate minimum language skills.

Other criteria is determined by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (i.e. satisfying Visa requirements)

Teaching and assessment

Domestic Students (Full-Time)
As a domestic student, you will attend face-to-face classes, Monday to Friday, on Intech campus. Compulsory 75% attendance is required.

International Students
As an international student, you will attend face-to-face classes, Monday to Friday, on Intech campus. Compulsory 75% attendance is required under student visa conditions. InTech operates on a 10-week term. There are 4 terms per year. All classes are scheduled for 20 hours per week.

RPL Students
Attend classes only if skills gaps identified.

Skillset and Micro Courses
Attend face-to-face classes at InTech campus.

Resources Provided
Students attending full-time classes will receive handouts/learning material relevant to each unit on induction day.

On induction /orientation day, students will receive:

  • Overview of each unit of competency

  • Internship details and journal
  • Textbooks and study materials
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) overview

RPL

Recognition of Prior Learning is a process of having your work experience and skills formally assessed for the purpose of gaining a nationally recognised and accredited qualification. InTech offers you the chance to transfer your skills and experience and turn it into a Diploma of Website Development!

Candidates can demonstrate their skills through a combination of:

  • Portfolio of Evidence
    • Prior qualification (accredited and non-accredited)
    • Employment history (detailed, positions, performance, appraisals)
    • Work samples and other relevant documents (photos, videos, etc.)
    • References and testimonials from verifiable sources
    • Journals and publications
  • Practical testing in the workshop or classroom (if necessary)

We offer the following qualifications:

Credits may also include units of competency contained within relevant skill sets and statements of attainment.

University Pathway:

This qualification may provide a pathway into university in the program Bachelor of Information Technology.

InTech has advanced standing from Southern Cross University and Griffith University for students who have completed the Diploma of Information Technology:

  • 8 subject credits from InTech Diploma of IT into Bachelor of IT
  • 12 Subject credits from InTech Advanced Diploma of IT into Bachelor of IT
