This advanced-level qualification will equip you with specialised skills and knowledge in a variety of networked computer systems. This will enable you to provide sophisticated IT support to organisations. The course has a strong focus on IT units including a range of broader industry-specific units in the areas of virtualisation, sustainability and project management.

In Australia, students successfully graduating from this qualification may receive a median salary of approx. $43,700 per year.

Course Overview

This course is perfect for individuals with existing mid-level IT skills in systems administration and want to enhance their skillset in network servers and update their knowledge in current industry-specific technologies. Students will have the opportunity to apply their skills through practical projects throughout the duration of the course that can go towards a portfolio.

Teaching and assessment

Domestic Students (Full-Time)
As a domestic student, you will attend face-to-face classes, Monday to Friday, on Intech campus. Compulsory 75% attendance is required.

International Students
As an international student, you will attend face-to-face classes, Monday to Friday, on Intech campus. Compulsory 75% attendance is required under student visa conditions. InTech operates on a 10-week term. There are 4 terms per year. All classes are scheduled for 20 hours per week.

RPL Students
Attend classes only if skills gaps identified.

Skillset and Micro Courses
Attend face-to-face classes at InTech campus.

Resources Provided
Students attending full-time classes will receive handouts/learning material relevant to each unit on induction day.

On induction /orientation day, students will receive:

Recognition of Prior Learning is a process of having your work experience and skills formally assessed for the purpose of gaining a nationally recognised and accredited qualification. InTech offers you the chance to transfer your skills and experience and turn it into a Diploma of Information Technology Systems Administration!

University Pathway:

This qualification may provide a pathway into university in the program Bachelor of Information Technology.

InTech has advanced standing from Southern Cross University and Griffith University for students who have completed the Diploma of Information Technology:
